Artist Statement
My work begins with memory.
I paint from the emotional traces left by childhood, migration, work, loss and transformation. The landscapes of my early life in rural Poland continue to live in my work — not as realistic scenes, but as fragments: fields before a storm, candlelight on All Saints’ Day, poppies in the countryside, the rhythm of labour, and the silence of things that remain unsaid.
Through acrylic, pastel, texture and layered colour,
I explore the tension between fragility and strength. I am interested in how delicate things survive: memories, women, families, dreams, identities, and the versions of ourselves we leave behind.
My paintings are personal, but they are not closed stories. They invite the viewer to enter their own memories and emotional landscapes — to recognise something familiar in colour, movement and surface.
